The Donkey

By Donald Mytnik It was Palm Sunday. The crowd was cheering and laying palms and coats on the street. That donkey must have felt really special. Did the donkey think people were there celebrating him? He delivered God's Word made flesh to the people. Aren't we like the donkey? Even though we act like an ass, God uses us to deliver His Word to the people.

Holiday vs Holyday

By Donald Mytnik Holiday is a contraction of holy and day , holidays originally represented special religious days . This word has evolved in general usage to mean any extra special day of rest (as opposed to regular days of rest such as the weekend ). Countrywide Holidays stands for when everybody plans for holidays or a break. Under many belief systems, days of rest are necessary for ritual or spiritual rejuvenation. Holy days originated in the Bible as 7 annual Holy Days the Jews or children of Israel were commanded to keep as instructed by Moses (who received it from the Lord or Yahweh (the Eternal One)). Outlined in Leviticus 23 are the 7 annual Holy Days that were to be kept. The word holi-day has replaced "Holy-Day" in todays English. Today the U.S. Government is trying to eliminate the word Holiday and replace it with words like recess,relaxation and Winter break .

The reinfectious thought of sin

By Donald Mitchell The power of sin is the law and the power of the law is the guilt and shame it trys to ensnare people with. As you continue with this cycle of remembering the thing you've done wrong it causes you to rethink on that issue and cause you to reseed or pollute your mind with the thing that your trying not to think on. The only way out is through repentance and renewing your mind to the Word of God.
