Tombstone Bride

By Donald Mitchell

(GNB) So then, if she lives with another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is legally a free woman and does not commit adultery if she marries another man.

I believe the intent of this scripture is not remarriage but an allegory on how Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death. Let me explain by retelling the scripture and changing the players.

(example) So then, if the Church lives with or enters another covenant or another set of rules while her God is alive, the Church will be called an adulteress; but if one of them dies, the Church is legally free and does not commit adultery if she follows a new set of rules and enters a new covenant.
